Aesthetically beautiful, great framing and clever scenes composition (loved the death of Buster Scruggs). Couldn’t quite spot the connection between the stories, besides being about human nature and set on the Wild West. Not that it makes any difference since the Cohen storytelling and dark humor is always present. The cast is also great and diverse, ranging from James Franco, passing through Liam Neeson, to Tom Waits. Glad the Cohen brothers dig these ‘golden gem’ stories from their 25 year old chest!

Beautifully made, but the whole “life sucks and then you die” message gets kind of frustrating after a while.

This is a different kind of movie. It resembles more a theatre play, Shakespearean sometimes, so if you like action you will not find it here. It's quite slow paced but beautifully filmed and with some great dialogues. Funny and depressing at the same time! And with quite some unexpected twists as one would imagine to happen in the real Wild West. What an odd and great combination!
