It’s just so witty and beautiful in all aspects. I’ll be rooting hard for this movie next Sunday at the Oscars.

Eccentric, witty and funny. Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone absolutely nail their roles. Colman’s performance is also brilliant (maybe even more?) on a different lead. In my opinion, it’s also one of the most accessible films by Yorgos Lanthimos. I did like the lobster despite its weirdness but I was not able to enjoy Killed of a Sacred Deer which I found dull and uninteresting. —- one of my favorite’s quotes: Abigail: Have you came to seduce me or rape me? Masham: I am a gentleman. Abigail: So, rape then. Epic! :)

Think of a James Ivory film. Now give it the best script of the year (Deborah Davis and Tony McNamara), some hard drugs, a punk attitude and add a mohawk for effect. The Favourite is a film for a dying breed: Grownups. Fast, witty and sarcastic ones. Keep up or you’ll miss a zinger! Killer performances by all, fantastic set design and costumes and expressive cinematography. Yorgos Lanthimos has arrived.
