What a brutal look to the Great War, which was more savage in terms of battle or warfare than 2nd World War. And the documentary, thanks to technological achievement, gives us a colorized look at that. No narration, only primary sources tell us how it was to come as an innocent boys as old as 15 to be in war; to stand unafraid and looking forward to go to action and come home to be an uncomprehended lot of men. The archive footage is chilling sometimes when watching the soldiers playing up for the camera. Some playful, some doubtful, others confused or exhausted. The sounds. There are some parts where you ear them breathing. But the most important powerful aspect watching the footage of the time is the humanity that those images give us.
